Generally, on a game like TB:D, players join together in a sort of live-writing or improvisational storytelling exercise, playing out scenes in an open-ended, on-going story with one another by trading paragraphs that detail their characters' reactions to a given situation. It's a lot like play-by-post games, except it's far more immediate — no waiting for hours or days to see what the other guy's doing. Instead, you wait minutes, sometimes seconds. A whole scene can take anywhere from an hour-and-a-half to half-a-day to play.
The thing is, as players and characters come and go, sometimes the IC through-line can be lost. People forget what's happened, when, how, and why. So, this site is an attempt to mitigate some of that.
Playing by the rules…
Ultimately, the staff are the final arbiters of the game. This is not a staff-run site. It's not in any way officially affiliated with the game, though all the contributors are players on the game who strive to be as accurate as they can be when sharing information and resources here. At the end of the day, no matter what it says on this website, the official game website, the +news files on the game, and the rulings of the game staff are what constitute official policy. If, over night, they decide that vampires can sparkle and werewolves can kill them with a single bite, so be it.
In short: Everything is subject to change, at the staff's discretion.
Even so, you should be able to rely on the information here as a fairly accurate representation of what has happened and is happening on-grid.
