The Two-Natured

When the vampires came out of the coffin in 2003, the rest of the supernatural world — witches, psychics, and two-natured — held their collective breath, waiting to see just what the human reaction would be. Unsurprisingly, the reaction was mixed, at best. Since then, however, that same supernatural world has been watching to see whether or not the initial confusion and hostility would at all give way to anything more… civilized.
It's an odd thought, on some level, for people given to animalistic natures as much as human, as are the two-natured, the idea of being 'civilized'. But, still, they want assurances that, were they to step out of the shadows and show themselves, open season wouldn't automatically begin. They're still waiting, watching, interested to know just how well their single-natured cousins adapt to the idea that the monsters of legend are real… and aren't necessarily a threat.
In the meantime, they go about their business, getting by as best they can in a world as yet unprepared to accept them, comforted within the subculture they've forged for themselves. Even within that subculture, however, there are divisions. Werewolves and shifters may both be two-natured, but how that duality is expressed in each is profoundly different. As a result, they don't always see eye-to-eye.
